The AP programme follows the teaching periods below. A learner's actual days and hours are agreed individually, so please use these dates alongside the confirmed placement timetable.

Teaching periods for 2026–27
These periods are taken from the supplied AP booklet. The January reopening date has an apparent year error in that document; the date shown below uses 2027 to match the academic year and weekday, and needs office confirmation before travel or attendance is arranged.
Your learner's individual timetable
Our brochure gives an example AP day with academic learning from 10am to midday and practical or wellbeing activities from 1pm to 3pm. That example helps explain the programme; it is not a booking or a statement that every learner attends both sessions.
The agreed placement timetable sets out the actual days, arrival and collection times. Please discuss changes with the office and the relevant school or commissioner before assuming a different attendance pattern is available. If you are unsure which calendar applies, tell us the service your child attends.
AP and tuition have different arrangements
These dates are for Alternative Provision. Regular tuition subscriptions use their own teaching and payment arrangements, described separately in the general booklet. An AP holiday does not automatically mean that an evening tuition session is cancelled.
For a bank holiday, absence or appointment affecting attendance, contact the office using the route agreed for the placement. Families and professional referrers should confirm how the change is recorded and who else needs to be informed. Keeping that communication clear helps everyone work from the same timetable.

Do these dates apply to evening tuition?
No. This page concerns the AP programme. General tuition has separate arrangements, including its annual subscription structure. Ask the office about a particular tuition date rather than assume the AP calendar applies to all Beyond Education services.
Is every weekday within these periods booked for my child?
No. The periods show the AP teaching calendar. Each learner has an individually agreed attendance pattern, which may cover particular days or sessions. Refer to that arrangement and contact the team if any detail is unclear.
Why is the January date marked for confirmation?
The 2026–27 booklet lists January with the previous year. Monday 4 January 2027 fits the surrounding calendar, but the office should confirm the reopening date. We have made the discrepancy visible rather than present an unconfirmed correction as final.
How should we report an absence?
Use the contact arrangements agreed for the placement and tell the team promptly. Where a school or commissioner is involved, follow the agreed process for informing them too. The website is not a substitute for the placement's attendance-reporting arrangements.
Can a placement start during a term?
Contact the AP team to discuss suitability, current availability and the proposed timing. A mid-term enquiry does not guarantee an immediate start. Assessment, funding and the necessary arrangements still need to be agreed before attendance begins.
