Finding the right support for your child
Every student has different strengths and areas they find challenging. We take the time to understand what your child already knows and where they need extra support before recommending suitable tuition.
When enquiring, let us know their year group, subject and, for GCSEs, their exam board and tier where relevant. Recent schoolwork or mock exam feedback can also help us identify areas to focus on.
We offer a free group taster session for KS3 and GCSE students, giving your child the chance to experience a session and helping us consider whether the group is a suitable fit.
Building strong foundations in KS3
The move into secondary school can bring new challenges, from more independent homework to unfamiliar topics and a faster pace of learning. KS3 tuition gives students time to revisit difficult concepts and strengthen the foundations they’ll need for GCSEs.
Sessions can focus on areas such as understanding mathematical methods, improving reading comprehension and developing written answers. By working through topics at a suitable pace, students can build their understanding and become more confident applying their knowledge independently.

GCSE tuition and exam preparation
GCSEs require students to understand their subjects and apply that knowledge to different types of exam questions. Our tuition helps students revisit challenging topics, practise exam-style questions and develop effective exam techniques.
Depending on the subject and individual needs, sessions may include: • Strengthening subject knowledge and revisiting difficult topics. • Practising exam-style questions and understanding command words. • Planning longer answers and explaining ideas clearly. • Reviewing mock exam feedback to identify areas for improvement. • Developing manageable revision priorities and effective study habits.
For GCSE tuition, it’s helpful to provide the exact exam board and course details. For English, let us know which texts your child is studying. For tiered subjects, please tell us whether they are working towards Foundation or Higher tier.
Schools and exam centres remain responsible for exam entries, tier decisions and access arrangements. Our tuition supports students with their learning and preparation.
Keeping Parents and Students Involved
We believe tuition works best when students, parents and tutors communicate. Students are encouraged to share what they find difficult, while parents can provide useful information about schoolwork and progress.
Our group sessions include written feedback, and a fuller conversation with the tutor can be arranged through the office. Individual sessions also provide an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
If your child’s needs change or they receive new feedback from school, let us know so we can take it into account when planning future sessions.
Your questions, answered.
Which GCSE subjects can you help with?
Our provision includes Maths, English and selected additional subjects, subject to specialist availability. Tell us the exact subject, qualification, year group and exam board. Staff will check the current options and tutor match before confirming that we can offer the support requested.
Can you support Foundation and Higher papers?
Tell us the current tier in subjects that use them, together with any discussion the school is having about a possible change. The tutor needs that context when choosing work. Entry and tier decisions remain with the student's school or examination centre.
Is the first secondary session free?
A free taster is available within a KS3 or GCSE group. Staff first discuss suitability and arrange a place in an appropriate session. This is different from the free assessment offered to primary pupils and does not mean that all types of secondary appointment are free.
Can we bring a school mock paper?
Yes, where the school has released it for the student to use. Include the teacher's feedback if available. Reviewing the paper can help identify topics, question types or exam habits to work on. We can also discuss priorities if the full paper is not available.
Can you help close to the exam date?
Contact us with the dates and the most pressing concerns. We will check availability and discuss a realistic focus. A few sessions may address particular difficulties, but we cannot promise to cover an entire course or guarantee a grade in a short period.
Talk through the next step
Let us know the subject, year group and exam board. We will discuss suitable tuition and current availability.
